I have been working on the research on the degradation machinery of biopolymers (e.g. proteins and cell wall), especially ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS). Recently, we have achieved the targeted protein knockdown of proteins involved in neurodegenerative disorders mediated by small molecules harnessing a ubiquitin ligase (E3), an enzyme conjugating ubiquitin to substrates, and currently are making an effort to expand the scope of the compounds. Also, I am challenging to develop the novel small molecules hijacking another E3. | |
